Bacon Beef Beef Mince Onion Pasta Sauce

Spaghetti Sauce

Serves 4
  • 2 bacon slices, rind removed and chopped
  • 1 onion, finely diced
  • 500g lean beef mince
  • 500g jar of chunky pasta sauce

Heat a large nonstick frying pan over moderate heat and saute the bacon and onion for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring until bacon is crisp and onion translucent. Add the mince, season with sea salt and cracked pepper and cook until brown. Add the sauce and simmer for 5 to 6 minutes. Serve immediately or allow to cool and freeze.

This is one of those delightful sauces that improves with age. It is delicious the next day served on toast for a quick and easy lunch or as part ot a Spaghetti Sauce Scroll: Spread over putt pastry and sprinkle with spinach and cheese; roll and bake in a preheated 180 C oven for 15 minutes or until golden. Oh! Oh! Oh! It makes the best topping for both pizzas and baked potatoes … Quick, easy and very tasty.
