Bacon Baked Beans Maple Syrup Pork

Boston Baked Beans

Serves 6
  • 3 bacon slices, rind removed and sliced
  • 12 chipolata sausages
  • 40ml maple syrup
  • 420g can baked beans

Boston baked beans are a variety of baked beans, typically sweetened with maple syrup and flavoured with salt, pork or bacon. It’s a very popular dish in the USA and for good reason – it’s quick, easy and YUMMY and my boys, hubby and dad love them!

In a medium saucepan, fry the bacon over moderate heat for 2 to 3 minutes, or until just crispy. Remove and drain on paper towel. Into the bacon juices add the sausage and cook for four minutes turning to brown all over the place bacon back into the frying pan. Add the maple syrup and beans. Reduce heat and simmer for 8 to 10 minutes. Staring occasionally.

This recipe is a great way to use leftover sausages from the BBQ. It is also yummy served on toast for breakfast or lunch or for a dinner rapidly gobbled up!
